Agritourism

Agritourism gives everyone a chance to see what farming and food are all about and taste the results at local farmer’s markets and restaurants.

You will find that the Center for an Agricultural Economy frequently has tours to some of the area farms. Private farms also have agritourism opportunities available where anyone interested can come and find what living on a farm is all about. You can also visit the agricultural fair at the Kiwanis Spring Festival in Hardwick or the Apple Pie Festival in Cabot; tour Cabot Creamery; find out about soil integrity at the Down to Earth Worm Farm and Highfields Center for Composting ; you can even go to farms such as Agape Farm and pet a pig, meet a duck, and walk a llama.

In the Heart of Vermont, agriculture isn’t something you found in plastic in a super market. It’s a vibrant part of the community. So come discover our version of agriculture and REALLY fresh food and organic products. We’re certain you’ll notice the difference.
